Provide Energy Conservation assistance/practices: Infiltration/smoke testing/water leak detection: Bench testing to check meter accuracy; sewer video camera of sewer lines to locate/pinpoint leaks.

          Promote Safe Drinking Water by providing technical assistance and training to the water and wastewater systems throughout the State of Louisiana. Promote energy conservation practices to water and wastewater industries throughout the state by providing to the systems free of charge for leak detection, meter and hydrant testing, sewer infiltration surveys, cross connection studies, rate studies, etc.

What are the goals and objectives for achieving such purpose?
          Develop and conduct a public awareness educational energy conservation program that will make the water/wastewater system personnel and private consumers aware to the potential or vast energy savings in the home and by the general public. Provide technical assistance to water, wastewater, and related industries to recognize and deal with varied problems in the line of energy conservation. On-Site technical assistance will be provided to perform infiltration surveys with receptive sewer systems throughout the use of smoke test and sewer camera equipment. Calculate the amount of water treated and pumped prior to and after repairs are made to the systems, and show reduction by correlating back to Kilowatt (KWHs) of energy saved by the repairs that are accomplished by the systems.
