Project YES” will enable us to continue to say YES” (Yeilding Effective Solutions) and improve our services. Grace Community Outreach is known throughout Shreveport/Bossier as the “Grace House.” We were founded April 30, 2009, making our mark in Louisiana. Grace House mission is “Putting People first is what truly Matters.” Grace Community Outreach first focuses on homeless residents just where they are tending to their basic needs which would be food, shelter, and clothing. Project YES (Yielding Effective Solution) is needed because it provides “ACTION and OUTCOME” then a SOLUTION evidenced by our 82 % of our families graduating into permanent housing, supportive or family unification. We are a 501@c non-profit organization providing the needs of homeless residents in the Shreveport/Bossier region addressing "at the point of contact" services the immediate needs of the homeless resident, “right now” assistance, either through admittance or networking with community agencies. Project YES provides intake, screening, case management, supportive services, counseling, job readiness, GED, Relapse Prevention, and financial assistance to help these women, women with children struggling with addiction, homelessness, mental illness, chronically homeless and women with HIV/AIDS characterized as high risk. We network with Hope for the Homeless and often other networks that will assist with identification. The goal of Project YES is to provide education through structural living, encouragement, efficient case management, referrals and network with other community resources, to promote and provide the highest quality of treatment, maintain structural living for safety, enhance education, and other skills which will enable our residents to return to self-sufficient society. We have main network with Social Security for the disabled are moving our program for a long-time needed solution and to be able to add addition beds for these women with children a haven. These residents are given clothing and then address their individualized treatment plans. Being goal directed to permanent housing. The children attend school, and are in a place to feel

Grace House provides AA/ NA, social skills, Educational and Medication compliance. We provide Individual/ process groups, Budgeting and job readiness. We are working on a web site however we are known throughout the city. We are small but we desire to be an asset to Shreveport/Bossier and often we are the one being called because we are a “right now” fit. Due to Covid-19, raise in the cos of housing, and the raise in mental illness, the need for shelter is greater and the stay may be longer.
Grace House is continuing to address the need of the homeless population, providing Emergency shelter and Transitional for the (men) from entry to exit of its program. Crime is at a all-time some due to unemployment, gangs and again mental illness. High. Then we have those that just don’t do the right’ thing. According to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, there were an estimated 7,373 people experiencing homelessness on a single night in Louisiana in 2022. Adjusting for population, this comes out to about 15.9 people for every 10,000 state residents, the 14th most among the 50 states. We need two vans
Of those experiencing homelessness in Louisiana, reported 16.8% were unsheltered, the 15th lowest share among states.
