What is the entity's public purpose, sought to be achieved through the use of state monies?
          The Greater New Orleans Educational Television Foundation was founded in 1953 and is the licensee of WYES-TV (a non-commercial educational television station serving all of Southeast Louisiana). State funds will be used to cover operational expenses including utilities, insurance, and tower payments, thus allowing other community support donations to be used for local production development and acquisition of high quality educational and enriching public media programming delivered via broadcast and digital media platforms for residents of Southeast Louisiana.

What are the goals and objectives for achieving such purpose?
          WYES’ goal is to provide and maintain a 24/7 high quality public programming broadcast and media distribution, as well as providing educational public safety services to residents throughout Southeast Louisiana and to be responsive to our members and viewers throughout our service area.

The objective is to cover necessary operating expenses so that community donation support can be stretched and leveraged to achieve the main goal of providing enhanced and enriching educational content for the community through program acquisitions and local program development.

What is the proposed length of time estimated by the entity to accomplish the purpose?
           WYES’ public service is an on-going commitment. State funds will help us to meet specific operation expense obligations for FY2027 to remain a valuable service to our community for FY27.
