The 18th Ward runs high-quality, affordable youth and workforce development programs across all 17 wards in New Orleans. They are renovating a community center in Hollygrove that would greatly benefit high-risk youth in New Orleans through free After School, Summer, and School Holiday programs that included healthy food, homework help, and physical activity. As you know, New Orleans youth face high poverty rates, poor physical and mental health. The 18th Ward is a leading organization working to address these challenges. The 18th Ward has successfully fundraised for the Community Center, with a $100,000 grant from a
local foundation, an in-kind contribution of the land and facility of $500,000 from the Trinity Christian Community. The 18th Ward is now seeking $150,000 in capital outlay funds to complete the renovation project and annually serve thousands of young people ages 3-24 in Hollygrove.
