What is the entity's public purpose, sought to be achieved through the use of state monies?
          The purpose is to provide struggling students with the opportunity to receive after school tutoring support. By leveraging this allocation from the state to solicit Education Freedom Tax Credit donations, the Family Tutoring Alliance will ensure that federal tax dollars stay in Louisiana and are dedicated to supporting Louisiana students through tutoring scholarships.

The Family Tutoring Alliance will, in effect, multiply these allocated funds through the tax credit donations so that each dollar of this investment becomes $5-$10 of tutoring scholarships offered to students.

Because the Family Tutoring Alliance partners with multiple tutoring providers who employ Louisiana educators, the initiative has the added benefit of providing additional income to Louisiana teachers who tutor through these high-quality providers.

What are the goals and objectives for achieving such purpose?
          Objective 1: Provide, at minimum, 1,500 students with tutoring scholarships valued at $1,500 each.

To achieve this objective Family Tutoring Alliance's initial goal is to solicit, at minimum, 1,500 donations from Louisiana tax payers through the Education Freedom Tax Credit during the first year of eligibility. The target goal will be 3,000 donations, which would result in $5,000,000 in tutoring scholarships to students in Louisiana.

Each year in operation the number of students receiving scholarships will grow significantly with exact targets to be set at a future date.

Objective 2: Ensure the quality of tutoring is high enough that the services result in significant acceleration in student's academic performance

The goal is for students, on average, to accelerate their growth to 1.5 months of growth for every month receiving tutoring. This level of growth will establish after school tutoring as one of the most effective academic interventions available and be significant enough to help students catch up and return to grade level work.

           12-18 months. Donations will be collected and distributed as scholarships throughout 2027 with some students completing their tutoring in early 2028.
