           The Westside Foundation, Inc., headquartered in Plaquemine, Louisiana, proposes a comprehensive community-focused initiative centered on continued infrastructure development and facility repairs, delivery of community service events and initiatives, and expansion of youth enrichment programming that progresses from STEM to wellness to leadership development. This effort is designed to strengthen organizational capacity, provide consistent community support, and equip youth and families with skills, resources, and opportunities for long-term success.
1. Facility Infrastructure Development and Use
A key component of this initiative is the continued development, repair, and enhancement of the Westside Foundation’s primary facility. Planned improvements include structural repairs, interior upgrades, and functional enhancements to ensure the building remains a safe, accessible, and effective space for programming and operations. The facility will serve as a central hub for Foundation activities, hosting community service events, educational sessions, workshops, and organizational meetings that support residents across the community.
2. Community Service Events and Initiatives
The Foundation will continue to host and expand community service events and initiatives aimed at addressing local needs and strengthening community engagement. These efforts include resource distribution, educational workshops, family-focused events, and partnerships with local organizations. All activities will be coordinated through the Foundation’s facility and designed to foster connection, support, and community pride.
3. Youth Enrichment, STEM, Wellness, and Leadership Programming
The Westside Foundation will continue and expand its youth enrichment programming with a structured progression from STEM education to wellness and leadership development.           The public purpose sought to be achieved through the use of state monies is to support community development, social services, and educational initiatives that benefit the residents of Plaquemine, Louisiana. Consistent with Article VII, Section 14(c) of the Constitution of the State of Louisiana, the Westside Foundation, Inc. will use the funds for a public purpose by delivering structured youth enrichment, education, mentorship, wellness, leadership development, and community-based services that promote positive social, educational, and community outcomes.
The Westside Foundation, Inc. will utilize state funds to implement integrated educational and youth development programming designed to foster academic achievement, personal growth, leadership skills, and community engagement. Programs will include STEM education, academic enrichment, mentorship, wellness programming, and leadership development activities that provide participants with constructive opportunities, positive role models, and pathways to long-term success. These initiatives are intended to increase youth engagement in positive activities, improve educational and developmental outcomes, and prepare participants to contribute positively to their community.
In furtherance of this public purpose, state funds will also support community development and social service initiatives that respond to local needs. These efforts include hosting community service events, educational workshops, and resource-based programming that strengthens community capacity, supports families, and enhances access to essential services. The Foundation’s programming is designed to serve a broad segment of the community while prioritizing underserved youth and families.
Additionally, the Westside Foundation, Inc. will use state funds to complete repairs, renovations, and enhancements to its primary facility, ensuring it functions as a safe, accessible, and fully operational community resource center. The facility will support the delivery of educational initiatives, social services, youth programming, and community development activities on a year-round basis. Facility improvements directly support the public purpose by enabling consistent program delivery, increasing community access to services, and ensuring the sustainability of public-benefit programming.
Through these combined efforts, the use of state monies will result in measurable public benefits, including increased access to educational and social services, improved youth development outcomes, strengthened community infrastructure, and enhanced community engagement. These activities collectively serve a clear public purpose by promoting education, wellness, leadership, and community development for the residents of Plaquemine, Louisiana.


What are the goals and objectives for achieving such purpose?
          The Westside Foundation, Inc. will implement programs and services that support community development, social services, and educational initiatives through facility-based programming and structured youth enrichment activities. The goal of this program is to enhance educational access, promote personal wellness, and develop leadership skills by providing integrated STEM education, mentorship, wellness programming, and community service initiatives. Through continued facility repairs, enhancements, and consistent program delivery, the Foundation seeks to increase youth engagement in positive activities, improve academic and personal development outcomes, strengthen community capacity, and ensure sustainable access to resources that prepare participants to succeed and contribute positively to the Plaquemine community.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
1.Implement and sustain integrated educational, STEM enrichment, mentorship, and leadership development programming serving a minimum of 75–100 youth annually, with participants demonstrating measurable improvement in academic performance, technical skills, leadership readiness, or engagement based on pre- and post-program assessments. Programming will progress from STEM education to wellness and leadership development, with a high completion rate among enrolled participants.
2.Deliver community development and social service initiatives by hosting a minimum of 12 community service or educational events annually, reaching at least 300 total community members.
3.Complete repairs, renovations, and enhancements to the Foundation’s primary facility and maintain it as a fully functional community resource center by supporting a minimum of 50 program days per year and at least 150 hours of facility-based programming. Improvements will ensure the facility is safe, accessible, and adequately equipped to support educational initiatives, social services, and community development activities.
