§1929. Confidentiality of criminal background checks; civil penalties

            A. Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, criminal background information in the possession of the office of insurance fraud of the Department of Insurance shall be confidential and shall not be disclosed to others outside of the office of insurance fraud except as necessary for action on the application of the applicant.

            B. Disclosure of information in violation of Subsection A of this Section shall result in a fine of five hundred dollars for the first disclosure and one thousand dollars for each subsequent disclosure by the same individual.
