Provide a summary of the project or program:
Capital Outlay- For the past 4 years, we have requested capital funding to replace the parking lot at our main office. When we first started this project, we had planned to have 1/2 cement/asphalt where the clients would park and the rest as gravel only to be told that the city laws would not allow this. At the time, the cost of putting a new parking lot would have been about $50,000. This is something we need to proceed with; it has got to be a priority as the potholes are getting deeper and the lot more decrepit. If funding will allow it, we plan to pave the entire lot even though the city laws will now allow us to do 1/2 pavement and 1/2 gravel. The current lot is so dangerous that one of our Parish Council members refused to pull into our parking lot. Seniors are often not steady or walking with walkers or are in wheel chairs and using these assistant devices are almost impossible to do in our parking lot. If any funding is left after choosing the type of paving that would be done at the office, further capital improvements would be done such as putting a stove at our Center Street Meal site to allow for some cooking there and to have another means of warming food up to be served. We serve about 150 meals there daily between home-delivered and congregate meals. Having a stove at the facility would allow for some socials where food needs to be prepped or just allowing the seniors to get together to cook one of their favorite things.

What is the budget relative to the project for which funding is requested?:
          Salaries. . . . . . . . . . . . . $0
          Professional Services. . . $0
          Contracts . . . . . . . . . . . $0
          Acquisitions . . . . . . . . . $0
          Major Repairs . . . . . . . $75,000
          Operating Services. . . . $0
          Other Charges. . . . . . . $0

Does your organization have any outstanding audit issues or findings?  No

If 'Yes' is your organization working with the appropriate governmental agencies to resolve those issues or findings?

What is the entity's public purpose, sought to be achieved through the use of state monies?
Using these state monies will allow us to provide a safer environment for our seniors age 60 and under that come to the main office. If we had to do this on our own, our local fundraising monies that we have to use in order to provide services would have to be lowered and our seniors would not be receiving the services which they deserve.

What are the goals and objectives for achieving such purpose?
Capital Outlay- Our facility is attractive but our entrance to our building due to the deteriorating parking lot is unattractive and unsafe. The objective is to help achieve a safe environment when the elderly and staff come into the building. If funding allows, we would like to put in a stove at Center Street, which is a historical site, that would need some rewiring to do this along with a commercial stove.

What is the proposed length of time estimated by the entity to accomplish the purpose?
           1 year
