           The objects and purposes for which this association is formed are state in the Articles of Incorporation. Those objects and purposes are to be achieved by working with the Governor, the Louisiana Legislature, the members of the Louisiana Congressional Delegation, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, the Louisiana Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism, the Governor’s office of Rural Development, the U.S. Department of Transportation, and with other persons and groups interested in economic development and in the improvement of transportation. The centerpiece of the Parkway is the Audubon Bridge situated on the Mississippi River between Pointe Coupee and West Feliciana Parishes, and a primary goal of the Parkway’s continued development is the safe movement of travelers along the route and safety would be improved through the lighting of the Audubon Bridge.
