           Our project is The Visitation of Our Lady Cajun Festival, an annual fundraiser. This is a three day event with food, games, and entertainment for the purpose of raising the funds to pay the debts of the Parish. We show our support for local businesses in and around the Marrero area through advertising and other sponsorship opportunities. We also provide the Marrero community an opportunity to come together in fraternity with one another.

What is the entity's public purpose, sought to be achieved through the use of state monies?
          At Visitation of Our Lady Church and School we instill the importance of going out and being with our neighbor. Especially in our school, we teach the importance of being with and helping our community. Our Cajun Festival is the biggest yearly event where we reach out to our Marrero community.

What are the goals and objectives for achieving such purpose?
          Cajun Festival is our biggest fundraiser of the year. The goal is both financial benefit and communal integration. Cajun Festival helps us to interact with our neighbors in Marrero and across the West Bank. Over three days, we provide games for kids, great food, and musical entertainment. Local businesses provide items for auction as well as purchase sponsorship packages to advertise their business on the fairgrounds and campus perimeter for four weeks. Live music is provided for the duration of the festival. This attracts fair go-ers from West Bank communities and beyond to have a good time in the name of fellowship and fund raising.

What is the proposed length of time estimated by the entity to accomplish the purpose?
           Cajun Fest takes about 12 months each fiscal year. Preparation begins in July, hosting the 3 day event in April, and finalizing financial reports in June.
