What is the entity's public purpose, sought to be achieved through the use of state monies?
Bastion Community of Resilience supports returning veterans and their families through their transition from military service and beyond by providing a healing environment and supportive programs within an intentionally-designed and operated residential community.
What are the goals and objectives for achieving such purpose?
Our goal is to foster a living environment in which veterans' core need for social connectedness and community is met through their relationships with their neighbors, and then implement supportive programs to meet each veteran's unique needs and circumstances within that intentional environment. Our objectives to accomplish this are as follows:
1. To operate a Residential Program that eliminates food insecurity across our community and provides each resident with ready access to therapeutic support, group activities, case management, and resource navigation to meet their individual needs.
2. To operate the Headway Brain Injury Program to provide treatment to 22 TBI-affected post-9/11 veterans, with a goal of increasing that population by at least 100% following the construction of the Wellness Center.
3. To expand our scope of care by establishing a network of veterans across New Orleans who are connected with our services and one another in order to bring Bastion's community model to the entire veteran population of New Orleans.
What is the proposed length of time estimated by the entity to accomplish the purpose?
2 years
