           The Dragonfly Harbor, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization serving victims of human trafficking and of sexual assault. We are seeing a need for emergency housing, that provides direct services and support that allows for effective transition back into the community. We are proposing an emergency/short-term transitional housing and direct service program called Downtown Dragonfly. This project aims to aid victims of human trafficking and of sexual assault by providing direct services and housing while gaining stability in order to reintegrate back into the community as a productive community member with autonomy, job readiness, financial literacy, community support, safe and stable housing, and family involvement. The program will use funding to acquire land and tiny houses, or sheds, that will be converted into transitional housing for individuals 18 or older, or small families. This would create a micro community with individual privacy, but community connectedness. There will be a center hub, for laundry, support groups, mental health counseling, and other direct services to take place. Other needs to be addressed include immediate services and basic necessities, such as hygiene products, medical appointments, other case management and advocacy. After established safety and stability, other services will be offered and implemented, such as education and job training, life skills, financial literacy, and parenting classes, as fit for each individual. The Downtown Dragonfly program will use therapists and staff already employed by our non-profit, and trained for these special populations, to deliver and perform services.

          The Dragonfly Harbor, Inc. was created to combat Human Trafficking, exploitation, and abuse in Louisiana. We provide trauma-informed, survivor-centered services and housing resources to survivors. We also engage in community initiatives designed to increase awareness, prevention, and community resilience.

          In the interest of addressing the needs for services, housing, and community support, the purposes of The Dragonfly Harbor shall be:
1. To provide necessary trauma informed services and housing to survivors of Human Trafficking, exploitation, and abuse.
2. To promote the restoration and transformation of survivors, allowing for healthy reintegration into the community.
3. To increase community awareness, prevention and resiliency through initiatives that empower, teach and promote community health.
4. To advocate for survivors and combat human trafficking in Louisiana
