           We are in the process of building an office for the Lafourche Council on Aging. We would like to purchase a 150k generator. The cost of the generator is $65,000.00 and installation is $20,000.00. We have a budget of two million dollars, and adding this generator will go over our budget. Having this generator during power outages would be a great help to the agency as we service elderly clients. This would allow us to not have disruption in service. During hurricane season we had to go to the local bank to use their internet to do payroll because the electricity was out.

          The entity's public purpose is to assist clients 60 years of age and older. During power outages, there may be a disruption in services. These clients depend on us daily. Sometimes we are the only people they see. By having this generator, our agency can ensure the clients can still receive their services, including home delivered meals, transportation to and from dialysis and doctors appointments, etc. without interruption. This will also assist the agency to stay open and will ensure we are able to carryout other necessary office functions when the electricity is out.

What are the goals and objectives for achieving such purpose?
          Goal - to keep the agency open during power outages
Objective #1- to keep elderly clients independent and in their own homes while receiving our uninterrupted services provided by our agency
Objective #2 to enable our agency to perform necessary office functions during power outages to ensure services are uninterrupted for our clients
