           This project seeks funds for the design and construction of a fully-inclusive and adaptive outdoor playground area for the K-8 students of the Hynes UNO School on its new campus, which is currently under construction and scheduled to open for the 2024-25 school year. At present, the Hynes UNO School's new campus has no playground area, and neither the School nor any of its related supporting entities have funds in their budgets for the design or construction of a playground area.
This proposed project presents a unique opportunity to fund the construction of a state-of-the-art, fully-inclusive and adaptive playground area on a brand new Louisiana public school campus that will provide play areas and equipment ensuring that all students--children of various abilities, ages, and backgrounds--have an equal opportunity to play, learn, and develop alongside one another. The playground on the new campus of the Hynes UNO School will serve as a flagship example for equal opportunity student play throughout the State of Louisiana. Outdoor play is essential for the holistic development of school-aged children. All students--including those comprising the Hynes UNO School student body--deserve quality outdoor space in which to play and exercise during the school day, and no student should be made to feel left out. A fully-inclusive and adaptive playground considers the needs of all students and incorporates play equipment and areas that address those needs and promote growth and joy. The new playground at the Hynes UNO School will serve to remove barriers between students, despite any differences, and give them a truly enriching space in which to play and grow together.

Hynes Charter Corp. intends to further its students' educational experience on the new campus of Hynes UNO School by working in conjunction with the Edward Hynes UNO PTO, Inc. to obtain funds for the construction of a fully-inclusive quality outdoor play space where students of all backgrounds and abilities can play, learn, and grow together.
