Provide a summary of the project or program:
Made In America Inc is a 501 (3)(c) nonprofit organization, which is currently pursuing the construction of a multipurpose Small Business Incubator and Workforce Training Center (SBI-WTC) on its own 2.5-acre land to create sustainable jobs for marginalized demographics of the historic Northwest Louisiana Federal Opportunity Zone. Currently, this construction process is in the final phase on the drawing board and will require $3.9 million dollars, with an additional $895,000 dollars for operational expenses. This resource center will serve as an incubator for the following ten (10) projects that will create approximately 90-100 full time jobs in this impoverished region of Louisiana:
1. Healing Pharma USA
2. Small People Law & Justice
3. RxESET Health
4. Made In America Tech Solutions
5. Made In America Housing Solutions
6. Donald Ward Irrigation & Drainage
7. Made In America Landscaping
8. Made In America Cleaning Services
9. EZ Come EZ Go Recycling, Recovery & Demolition
10. Made In America Environmental Mitigation

We are seeking Louisiana State Capital Outlay ($3.9 Million, 25% cash match required) and Louisiana State Legislative Appropriation funding assistance ($895,000) for the fiscal year 2024-25. In addition, grant funding experts have been engaged to obtain additional funds from all possible sources (not limited to philanthropic, governmental, private or other public sources) to help with the operational expenses pertaining to all the incubating projects in the workforce center.

The SBI-WTC building will be approximately 12,000 sq ft and one story high, with a total of six suites in the facility, allowing adequate space for programming. Each suite will have two offices, a dedicated conference room, and a shared work area. The multipurpose room, a convening space for both SBI-WTC users and the community for meetings, workshops, or networking events, will be a key element of the facility. The SBI-WTC will provide a workspace, resources, and classes for both non-profit organizations and start-up companies to launch, scale, and support businesses. This facility will be a unique one-stop-shop in the under-resourced Northwest Louisiana area, providing a range of resources and collaboration under one roof. Services will include mentorship and coaching, workshops and training sessions such as entrepreneurship fundamentals, financial courses, and pitch preparation. The SBI-WTC will also offer wraparound services such as transportation stipends, funding support, networking with businesses and investors, legal and administration support, and office space and resources, including modern IT and office equipment.

Northwest Louisiana stands to benefit tremendously from a workforce resource center for both training and accelerator resources. According to the EDA’s Recompete Eligibility Mapping Tool, used to categorize/determine persistently distressed areas with high prime-age unemployment (PAEG), Shreveport-Bossier City, LA is local labor market eligible, with a prime age employment rate gap of 6.55%. The Climate and Economic Justice Screening Tool also demonstrates this region of LA is a low-income area in the 78th percentile. The SBI-WTC is supported by LA State Representatives Joy Walters (District 4) & Larry Bagley (District 7) and LA Senator Sam Lee Jenkins Jr; all of whom expressed agreement with this project’s location, operational and job creating endeavors. The Treasury Department of the State of Louisiana has approved the utilization of public funds to be utilized for this job creating project as a small business incubator and workforce training center.
