           The proposed funds would help fund the construction of Bastion's Veteran Families Annex, a facility to support unhoused veteran women and their children via Bastion's programs. This annex would operate in concert with our Veteran Wellness Center, on track to open to the public in late Summer 2025, thereby establishing a definitive hub of resources, care, and connection for the 15,000 veterans of New Orleans and their families. The annex would be constructed on the land immediately adjacent to our Veteran Wellness Center, and would be co-located within the Bastion residential commmunity.

What is the entity's public purpose, sought to be achieved through the use of state monies?
          Bastion is America's first intentional community for injured veterans and families. Bastion Community of Resilience's public purpose is to complete the construction of a Veteran Wellness Center on the property of Bastion Community of Resilience, for these and all veterans in the Gulf Coast Region for the purpose of facilitating their successful post military life by providing a single hub of resources and connection for all 15,000 of the veterans in the greater New Orleans area.

What are the goals and objectives for achieving such purpose?
          The goal is to build and operate a 10,000 square foot Veteran Wellness Center equipped with back up solar power, indoor and outdoor program spaces and rehabilitative equipment, and sufficient space to simultaneously support an expansion of Bastion's existing programs and a wide assortment of activities conducted by our community partners, and to maintain the accessibility of such facility 7 days per week at no charge to the individual participant.
