What is the entity's public purpose, sought to be achieved through the use of state monies?
To enhance the quality of life for individuals and families impacted by disability by providing holistic wellness services, connecting people with vital community resources, advocating for systemic inclusion and accessibility, and raising public awareness about the realities and opportunities of life after disability.
What are the goals and objectives for achieving such purpose?
The Foundation’s work is organized around five primary goals and objectives:
1. Improve Quality of Life for People with Disabilities
We aim to help individuals reclaim and build lives of independence, strength, and joy. Our adaptive fitness programs focus on functional outcomes and fostering confidence. Split Second Cares extends this support to address mental health needs and connect families with vital resources. Together, these services fill critical gaps in post-rehabilitation care and improve long-term outcomes.
2. Increase Community Inclusion and Engagement
We create spaces and programs that foster connection, reduce isolation, and build a culture of inclusion. From adaptive yoga classes and support groups to community events and cultural programming, Split Second Foundation fosters networks of support and shared experience. These efforts empower clients to engage fully in their communities and contribute to the vibrancy of our city and region.
3. Drive Systems-Level Advocacy and Awareness
We advocate at the local, state, and national levels for policies that remove barriers and promote equity. Through events like Disability Awareness Day at the Capitol, partnerships with policymakers, and public awareness campaigns, we work to create systems that include and uplift the disability community. Our efforts aim to educate stakeholders about the social determinants of health that disproportionately impact people with disabilities and to champion solutions that foster inclusion and independence.
4. Expand the Reach and Impact of Services
To meet growing demand, we are scaling our holistic wellness model statewide. We seek to expand Split Second Fitness into a larger facility with the capacity to serve more clients and add clinical services such as physician-directed rehab, occupational therapy, and behavioral health. We also cultivate partnerships with healthcare providers, universities, and community organizations to amplify our impact and reach new populations.
5. Ensure Organizational Sustainability and Growth
We are committed to building a financially strong and sustainable organization. This includes diversifying funding through grants, corporate partnerships, events, and individual giving; investing in staff development and program innovation; and leveraging data to track outcomes and communicate impact. A strong, engaged Board of Directors and volunteer network help us drive growth and keep the organization grounded in community needs.
What is the proposed length of time estimated by the entity to accomplish the purpose?
