The objective of Finding Our Roots African American Museum is to educate, preserve, and celebrate the rich and often overlooked history of African Americans in Terrebonne, Lafourche, and St. Mary Parishes. Through immersive exhibits, family lineage research, and cultural programming—including mobile museum tours and virtual reality experiences—the museum seeks to inspire understanding, promote heritage pride, and foster a deeper connection to the contributions and resilience of African American communities across the tri-parish area.
