           Pamoja Art Society (Pamoja) was founded in 1965 (Established in 1977), by an inspired group of young talented visual artists who shared the same vision, which was to create and promote the creative talents of Black American Artists in the Shreveport-Bossier Community and other outlying areas of Louisiana. Over time, Pamoja Artists had developed a support system for themselves and new artists who joined the group. Developing their creative skills, these individuals explored cultural and universal Art themes, which had the ultimate effect of adding value to Black American Art. Pamoja Art society remains an active and significant leader within Shreveport’s Art Community as it functions both as a member-based Arts Associate and a community-based promulgator of art programs for public appreciation and awareness.

          Our Mission is to stimulate and promote cultural development in the Shreveport-Bossier Community and other neighboring areas of Northern Louisiana. We strive to bring in and shine a light on exceptionally talented artist in the area as well as travel to other art societies for collaborative purposes.

What are the goals and objectives for achieving such purpose?
          Our Goal is to continue our expansion across Louisiana, throughout America, and ultimately, to present Pamoja Art Society as a global presence by offering access to its wealth of multiple art streams featuring Black American culture, and the abundant and creative traditions and work, of Black-American Artists and other minority Artists, who are part of the Pamoja Art Society Family.
