§205. Group health insurance; parish of Winn; office of the district attorney; eligible retired
employees
A. If a group health insurer offers a retired employee a health insurance plan, the
district attorney's office of the Eighth Judicial District shall pay the retired employee's
premium, upon retirement age, per the Parochial Employees' Retirement System of
Louisiana. Otherwise, the district attorney's office shall pay up to one hundred percent of the
retired employee's health insurance premium comparable to the premium of an active
employee's plan of choice.
B. When the retired employee reaches the age or condition for Medicare eligibility,
the retired employee shall secure Medicare and pursue a supplemental plan. The district
attorney's office shall continue to pay the retired employee's current health insurance
premium or the premium for the supplemental plan that is comparable to the present
insurance coverage.
C. For purposes of this Section, a retired employee shall have twenty-five years of
employment with the district attorney's office at the time of retirement.
