§364.1. Preservation of choice in vehicle purchases; combustion engine vehicles
A. For purposes of this Section, "combustion engine vehicle" shall mean the
component of a motor vehicle that converts the chemical energy in fuel into mechanical
energy for power.
B. No state agency shall restrict the use or sale of a motor vehicle by any citizen
based on the energy source used to power the motor vehicle, including the energy source
used for propulsion or use of powering other functions of the motor vehicle.
C. No state agency shall limit or prohibit the use or sale of a new motor vehicle with
an internal combustion engine. Further, any air quality challenges in R.S. 30:2060(L)
relative to "Louisiana's Toxic Air Pollutant Emission Control Program" shall not restrict the
ability of Louisiana citizens to purchase any vehicle.
