CHAPTER 16-A. VIDALIA PORT COMMISSION
§1861. Creation of Vidalia Port Commission
A. There is hereby created a commission to be known as the Vidalia Port
Commission, which shall be composed of seven members, who shall be residents of the
parish of Concordia, who shall serve without compensation, and who shall be appointed by
the governing authority of the town of Vidalia.
B. Of the commissioners initially appointed by the governing authority of the town
of Vidalia, two shall be appointed for a term of two years, two shall be appointed for a term
of four years, and the remaining commissioners shall be appointed for a term of six years.
Thereafter, the successors to each of the commissioners shall be appointed for terms of four
years.
C. Any vacancy on the commission for any reason shall be filled in the same manner
as the original appointments and for the unexpired term of office. Each commissioner shall
be a citizen of the United States and a qualified voter and taxpayer of the state of Louisiana.
