§1564. Authority of the state chief procurement officer
A. Central procurement officer of the state. The state chief procurement officer shall
serve as the central procurement officer of the state.
B. Power to adopt rules. Consistent with the provisions of this Chapter, the state
chief procurement officer may adopt rules governing the internal procedures of the central
purchasing agency.
C. Duties. Except as otherwise specifically provided in this Chapter, the state chief
procurement officer shall, within the limitations of regulations promulgated by the
commissioner:
(1) Procure or supervise the procurement of all supplies, services, major repairs, and
personal, professional, consulting, and social services needed by the state.
(2) Exercise supervision over all inventories of warehoused supplies belonging to
the state.
(3) Establish and maintain programs for the inspection, testing, and acceptance of
supplies, services, and major repairs.
(4) To provide for contractual forms and specifications to be used in the confection
of all contracts provided for in this Chapter.
