This new facility of nearly 8,000 sq ft will replace the existing 800 sq ft building. The library will upgrade all electronics, provide seating, an updated book/electronic materials collection and a place to conduct study and research - all in an attempt to provide a conducive learning environment for individuals of all ages - primarily for the students of the southern end of Pointe Coupee Parish.
With its proximity to a major emergency evacuation route (Hwy 190), it will also serve as a communications station in the event of any potential disaster.
