           We Produce Grads (WPG) is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to providing an innovative approach
to STEM education in north Baton Rouge public schools by installing and supporting the operation of
Aquaponics R&D labs in the classroom. The program has completed two years of operation and currently
serves 200 students at Brookstown Middle School and Istrouma High School where students learn the STEM
concepts associated with operating the lab, how to operate the lab and what they can grow in the lab, while
earning credits toward graduation. The project will install a climate controlled greenhouse on the Istrouma
High School Campus in East Baton Rouge Parish. The purpose of the project is to provide a sustainment
mechanism for the STEM Aquaponics Program serving the 70805 community. The greenhouse is a scaled up
version of the R&D labs operated by the students with a capacity to grow 20,000 heads of leafy produce and
1,500lbs of catfish annually. WPG will administer all proceeds from the greenhouse operation to provide
part-time on campus student jobs and fund college scholarships for graduates pursuing STEM education
courses. The project will provide students with the opportunity to learn entrepreneurial skills while meeting
nutritional needs of the school cafeteria and the local community. The East Baton Rouge School District
signed a MOU with We Produce Grads committing (3) dedicated teachers to the program, including operation
of the greenhouse. All utility costs are paid by the school district and operating costs are paid by We Produce
Grads non-profit organization. The school district has also committed $130K towards construction of the slab
and all utilities for the greenhouse. The Wilson Foundation provided a $20K grant towards the building
fascade, student gathering area and bio-security area.

          The climate controlled greenhouse operation will generate funds for college scholarships and provide

          The operating budget for the greenhouse operation has been reviewed, approved and integrated into our five year budget. The
school district has committed to paying all utility costs and teacher salaries. Therefore, all operating costs are covered without
additional revenue requirements.

The Greenhouse Project is the sustainment mechanism for the STEM Aquaponics Program at Istrouma
High School and Brookstown Middle School. All proceeds fund college scholarships for graduates.
