           The City of Bogalusa and the Bogalusa YMCA have joined in a colaborative effort to turn the Y into a safe house in case of natural
disaster. The YMCA has served in the past for hurricane Katrina as a command center of the National Guard B-Co-1-111. Since
then the Y has served as a food and clothing distribution center for the storm victims. The city of Bogalusa desperatly needs a safe
haven for the police dept., city workers and those of the community. The idea is to fortify the existing gym structure and
surrounding building. The YMCA is the focal point of the community for families and children hosting free after school tutorig and
art classes. It serves also for our youth to play basketball and excercise. The building was built in 1953(66yrs) and the inside needs
