           Funding of this program helps purchase and distribute well-balanced meals to 225 homebound elderly residents of Tangipahoa Parish; purchase and serve well-balanced meals 250 days per year to 300 frail elderly individuals at five Senior Centers with activities, exercise and transportation. Other services such as light housekeeping and information and assistance are provided to approximately 1,600 individuals throughout the year.

          36,000 hot meals; 55,000 home delivered meals, 22,000 trips to doctor appointments, grocery and drug stores, senior centers, etc.; 1,100 units of information and assistance; 2,100 hours of housekeeping; 5,400 telephone reassurance calls; 213 nutrition education sessions; exercise, art and computer classes, and other activities and services to help elderly individuals remain independent and in their own homes as long as possible.
