           Improve Facilities

The need in Terrebonne Parish for emergency food services has grown exponentially in the past years. We have set a record for people served each of the last 7 years. Last year we served a total of 10,500 a months supply of food. This year currently we have already served over 7,000 in the first 5 months. We have gone from processing some 1.2 million pounds of food last year to over 700,000 pounds in the past 5 months We also maintain programs to provide assistance for the Homeless, Food Assistance for college students. We provide emergency assistance for 19 local charities and provide emergency food assistance for the Parish of Terrebonne for the TOHSEP in all natural disasters and emergencies. Larger and improved facilities will allow us to keep larger quantities of food on hand to handle those emergencies especially hurricanes and other natural disasters. We could offer more assistance to the homeless helping to get more of them off of the streets. Provide supplies for a hot meal program for school kids during the summer who don't get them outside of the school lunch programs. Reduce cost by being able to obtain in larger quantities and taking advantage of volume discounts. Improving distribution allowing us to serve more in need in the Parish.

          To provide better emergency food services to those in need in Terrebonne Parish. We will serve about 15,000 individuals this year and based on economic numbers we could be serving some 25,000 who would fit our service base.

          To store larger amounts of food so we can serve the entire needs population in Terrebonne Parish. To offer additional services that are currently not being provided for. To provide better emergency services during emergencies.
