Provide a summary of the project or program:
Our Mission: To educate, nurture and provide opportunities to those
who create, perform and enjoy original music.
Our Vision: A vibrant culture that produces, supports and celebrates original music and artistry.

Funding objective is for increased capacity to accomplish our mission and vision. Three areas identified by our board during our strategic planning session, whose funding will in turn increase overall long-term abilities of the organization are: education, part-time paid office support and expansion of our Ozone Music Gifting program. We request $45,000 to help fund a part time administrative and office manager position for 3 years. This person will be a great contributor toward assistance in implementing plans for our membership program, web-site maintenance, help with social media posts, office management and for expansion of programs already being run by the all volunteer board. It will also provide a presence for us in our new offices in a new cultural center in Mandeville, LA - of which we are the 10 year anchor tenant. We project this position to be funded by the membership program after the 3 year period your funds will cover ends.
The Ozone Music Gifting program will receive $7500 of the funds to purchase instruments, increase number of music lessons and provide for program material distribution to increase our reach. The program system has been successful, we want to reach more young people.
The third area funds will be applied to ($8000) are our Educational workshops. We wish to increase the number from 1 per year to 4 per year. Monies allocated to education will primarily be used to obtain instructors and a small portion for marketing the courses which are led by industry professionals and experts from around the country.

What is the entity's public purpose, sought to be achieved through the use of state monies?
The Ozone Music Education Foundation is a Louisiana-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in August 2017. The vision of the Foundation is to create a vibrant culture that produces, supports, and celebrates original music and artistry by educating, nurturing, and providing opportunities to those who create, perform, and enjoy original music. Opportunities for individuals, communities and business.
The Foundation has identified three key initiatives:
Education: Provide education and resources for people of all ages to develop skills and knowledge to pursue music to their fullest ability and desire.
Experience: Develop a dynamic music scene where local, regional and national artists of all ages have performance, mentoring and networking opportunities.
Economy: Create an economic engine by cultivating a sustainable, thriving music hub.
Programs selected to receive state monies:
Ozone Music Gifting (OMG!):
The Foundation launched the Ozone Music Gifting (OMG!) program in 2019 as a community service project to loan musical instruments to students aged 10 to 18. The program provides an instrument to students in pursuit of music education and appreciation. Instruments are loaned to a student to learn. Lessons are provided throughout the required time period which is one year. The overall incentive is for the student to become the owner of the instrument by successfully completing the program.
Education: During our annual Festival, we sponsor a Songwriter Symposium, where songwriters learn about the business side of music from experienced professionals. This workshop is designed to educate, connect, and provided resources to those who want to learn more about a variety of music industry and songwriter topics.
Having an administrative assistant to the board would result in expansion of existing programs, implementation of our membership plan immediately vs. 2023. Person would aid in continued networking with other similar groups and development of relationships benefiting everyone we touch!
