           The annual New Orleans Bowl features a match up between the Sun Belt Conference and Conference USA that is broadcast live on ESPN. The event has a $2 Million budget. The funds requested are used to offset the expenses of hosting the event, which serves to advertise and promote tourism throughout the State on the ESPN broadcast and to the fans that attend.

          The public purpose of New Orleans Bowl, Inc. is to create tourism, economic impact and media exposure for the State by providing an opportunity for the student-athletes to compete in a championship environment at the Louisiana Superdome; to expose the student-athletes, school administrators, fans and sponsors to the many unforgettable hospitality opportunities that exist in New Orleans and the State of Louisiana; and, to provide a live TV broadcast platform to promote the State of Louisiana.

          The goals and objectives are to support a major annual event that promotes tourism through the live ESPN broadcast, and serves to enhance the economy of Louisiana through the local/regional business activity. The Bowl also enhances the economy through tourism, provides positive media exposure for the State, and advertising/promotional opportunities through the live ESPN broadcast.
