          The Highland Center is working to reduce concentrated poverty and enhance neighborhood revitalization by serving as a central hub that anchors the Highland neighborhood in Shreveport. Of the facility’s 150,000 square feet, 40% is used for Building Partner programs, and 60% is used for shared community center amenities. The goal of this capital investment is to ensure programs and amenities are accessible to all citizens.

What are the goals and objectives for achieving such purpose?
          The Center and its 17 partners offer programs and amenities to support three targeted areas: cradle-to-career education, economic opportunity, and neighbor wellness. Nearly 60,000 guests visit the Center annually. Programs include a Child Development Center, an Emergency Response Shelter, and a HUD-Certified Housing Counseling Agency.
