What is the entity's public purpose, sought to be achieved through the use of state monies?
Warren and Linda Trimble Ministries have been a community resource for helping people since 2007 in the state of Louisiana. * Our purpose is to break the poverty cycle through initiatives to close the achievement gap through academic enrichment, reduce teenage pregnancy, prevent school dropout and juvenile delinquency by engaging children and teens in activities. Children and their parents (especially young mothers) need help in these types of situations in our society. We will engage the parents by mentoring and training them also.
* By supporting their mental wellness, academic success and behavior changes, we are able to reduce the school dropout rate, increase the graduation rate, and prepare teens and their parents for career and college success.
* This program has the potential to target twice as many children and parents as before in our past programs due to extending our mentoring program to teens and teen moms.
* Our Mothers Day Out program (for mothers and young children) and SAVE our Daughters (mothers and daughters) will be extended to more single moms as well as all women and girls. These programs will provide parenting classes and mentoring services to all. We provide resources for not just the children but also the parents through these type mentoring programs.
* We will empower some of our most at risk and disadvantaged subgroups by becoming a resource year round for all. Our unique academic programs have empowered many participants (teens and parents) to become successful in school, community and at home.
What are the goals and objectives for achieving such purpose?
Our key goal in the mentoring aspects of the program is two-fold:
Young people - To foster their personal and professional growth by providing guidance, support, and access to opportunities, helping them navigate challenges, develop skills, and achieve their goals through a positive and supportive relationship with a more experienced mentor
Adults - To foster personal and professional development of mentees by leveraging the knowledge and experience of mentors, aiming to enhance their skills, career progression, and overall contribution to society.
Our Objectives:
Mentoring can help with youth development, education, and personal growth.
* Close the Achievement Gap - by Academic Tutoring 4 days a week. 75% of participants will show improvement by the 2nd 6 weeks of the program.
* Improve self-esteem, build peer relationships, and reduce aggressive behaviors by using a weekly researched based behavior program such as Positive Action. 75% of participants will show improvements at the halfway mark of the program.
* Active youth development through the engagement and practice of business skills, communication skills, non cognitive skills (socioemotional skills), and specific learning skills. By the end of the program, 75% of participants will demonstrate the use of some non cognitive skills.
Mentoring can help adults reach their full potential and become better parents and citizens
* By giving Parents and young mothers the opportunity to gain experience in leadership, management, and develop communication skills; 50% will increase in job and career satisfaction and retention in the workplace by the end of the program.
* Through professional development, seminars, networking, sharing knowledge and best practices with each other at least 50% of the parents will reach his or her parenting and career goals by the end of the program.
What is the proposed length of time estimated by the entity to accomplish the purpose?
