           The Morehouse Council on Aging proposes to replace aging kitchen equipment that is used to provide "Meals on Wheels" for the older people of Morehouse Parish. This equipment includes but not limited to a 30 gallon tilting skillet, 3 door commercial reach in Refrigerator, a 30 Qt Stand Mixer, and other misc equipment for use in the kitchen. The agency provides Congregate, and Home Delivered meals to over 600 people with an average of 225 meals a day.

What is the entity's public purpose, sought to be achieved through the use of state monies?
          The Morehouse Council on Aging is the Area Agency on Aging for the Parish of Morehouse. It is charged to assist, do studies, represent older adults, provide I&R, and other services under the Governors Office of Elderly Affairs through Older Americans Act of 1964 and as amended. It the Housing Authority of the Parish for Morehouse under the Morehouse Parish Police Jury through HUD HCV program, it also provides Nutrition services with Nutrition Education, Nutrition Counseling, and provides Food Service 250 days a year. It also works with the NE Food Bank to help with food boxes for those over 60.

What are the goals and objectives for achieving such purpose?
          To provide the most nutritious meal for the seniors, daily and provides extra meals for the weekend. It provides hot, cold food, emergency meals, and a food pantry for those in need of food. this equipment will help in the provision of a nutritious item for the low income and socially needy in the best most proficient manner.
