The Project consist of constructing a new 15,750 square foot Vocational/Technical Center. Included shall be classroom space, labs and shops.
The new Center will be used to teach job training skills within an area that has high unemployment rates and high levels of poverty. The secondary objective of the new Center is to provide the educational foundation to allow students to be able to continue their education for job training.

What is the entity's public purpose, sought to be achieved through the use of state monies?
OIC provides Job Readiness, Job Skills and Life Skills Training;
High School Secondary Education Tests Literacy Evaluation (HiSET);
Microsoft Office – Word, Excel and PowerPoint Training, and Job Search and Placement Assistance; Phlebotomy; and CMA
to participants who are low-to-moderate income youth, who are disadvantaged, unemployed, and/or under-employed, in the LWDA 81 geographic area under WIOA Title 1 Adult, Dislocated Worker, Youth and/or Wagner-Peyser.
The New Entity shall be able to, more efficiently, provide job training skills for citizens of Ouachita Parish. The new Center will accommodate 200 students.
What are the goals and objectives for achieving such purpose?
OIC will prepare 60 participants for the workforce and assist in finding job placements for 75 percent (75%) of that number (i.e. 45 participants), thereby helping participants to become independent of social programs while enhancing their standards of living and improving the quality of life.
The Ouachita Parish area has high unemployment rates and high levels of poverty. The students who graduate from the new Center shall become a viable part of the work force, which shall improve the economy.
