Provide a summary of the project or program:
           The Friends of Crowville received $860,000 in General Funds Direct Non-Recurring revenues in Act 465 of the FY 2023 Legislative Session. They also received $575,000 from FP&C Capital Outlay savings fund in Act 5 in FY 2024 They would like to request an additional $647,680 to pair with these other funds to construct a new Community Center in Crowville. Refurbishing the existing community center will be almost as costly as constructing a new center. The Center is a vital location for the 915 residents of the Crowville community area. The Center is used for the Council of Aging meal program for seniors, annual Summer Camp for K-8
students, annual School Garden, Farmers Market, Fall Day Camp (125 students),and other community activities. The Friends of Crowville would like to construct a new community center. These improvements will allow the facility to accommodate more seniors for their meals program and more students for their camps. ADA accessibility upgrades will be included. The project includes adding a wrap-around porch to provide cover from the elements for visitors as they enter the facility, sidewalks for easier access, landscaping and gazebo, and improvements for the asphalt parking. Year One will include planning, permitting and construction.
Project Inspection has been included in equipment, as the facility serves the public and will need to adhere to building and life safety
codes. Permitting $8,000 is included in the Miscellaneous category. The Friends of Crowville has selected the existing school board property fronting LA 577 and Football Field Rd.as the preferred or Alternate 1 site for the location of the New Community Center. Their Alternate 2 site or the secondary site for the center is on property owned by the Friends of Crowville on Football Field Road, at the existing Community Center site.
