We want to become the beacon in the community for educational and social development
Our Mission
It is to provide a safe environment for all to enjoy. We provide a variety of enriching activities for members of all ages. We promote healthy habits while bringing families and community members closer together through social activities, sports, and other shared interests.
Our Vision is to continue to develop new and exciting ways to promote community outreach through a variety of programs.
ROBINSON-WILLIAMS Restoration of Hope is a non-profit organization, dedicated to fostering the Emotional, Physical Enrichment and Development of people of all ages.
In partnership with LSU AgCenter, we were able to install a freezer, refrigerator equipment and food storage racks to become a certified food pantry, establishing a Second Saturday Farmers Market to promote eating more fruit and vegetables. Additionally, along with LSU and Southern AgCenter we have installed 14 raised garden beds in which we grow vegetables to support our healthy eating educational program as well as our food pantry distribution program feeding over 170 families on the second Saturday of each month. We also provide emergency food to the homeless and families who have lost everything due to home fires. With a grant from USDA in 2024, we were able to install a 30 by 72 green house allowing us to continue growing vegetables year-round.
Since opening we have had over three thousand people (3,000) pass through our doors participating in a wide range of activities, such as in our sewing programs, youth IT workshop with BDPA, health eating workshops, tutoring programs, youth and family mentoring, health fairs, family gathering, reading programs, town hall meetings, fire safety workshops, community garden program, chef camps for kids and senior adults’ activities to name a few. In the past three years we have taken over 100 kids to a professional sporting event in New Orleans (Pelican’s) and an educational visit to the State Capital. Most of the kids we take have never been outside of the Parish.
Our purpose is to serve both young and older adults. We want to encourage our youth to learn about the importance of education, eating healthier, making better choices, understanding the importance of Character development, Entrepreneurship, Financial Literacy, Mentorship and giving back to their community. To implement our purpose, we have formed an alliance with local churches, businesses and other nonprofit agencies for supportive services to ensure all gaps are filled. Additionally, we want our seniors to know that we haven’t forgotten them, and that they play a vital role in helping mold our children.
We want to become a beacon in the community where the young and old will know that they have a place to come, feel safe, and receive valuable resources to improve their lives. We want to create a walking trail around our community garden to encourage our citizens to get outside, exercise more, and learn how to create their own garden. We have collaborated with the BDPA organization to provide Education, Training in the IT field so that our young adults can learn about Cybersecurity, Networking Switches, C++,Linux, CompTIA, HTML (website/mobile app development), JavaScript, Drone Courses and Licenses, that will prepare them with the knowledge to pursue great job opportunities in turn will help promote financial wellness and wealth for the whole family. We want to become a location where young adults can learn and receive training in the Information Technology (IT) field. Eventually, we want to become an emergency location where individuals requiring kidney dialysis treatment can come for treatment (right in their own community) in the event of catastrophic power outage in city.

Help reduce the Crime and Violence that is prevalent in Morehouse Parish by providing alternative measures. Improve Character development, Entrepreneurship, Financial Literacy, Mentorship and a Strong Supportive support system within families. Help improve health outcomes in the parish by helping reduce the obesity rate in the community and to increase physical activities in families. Provide students an opportunity to qualify for high quality jobs within the information Technology field. In addition, to continue to strengthen the alliances with the churches, businesses, and other nonprofit agencies for supportive services to ensure all gaps are filled.
What are the goals and objectives for achieving such purpose?
Simply, to help improve the overall health of our community by giving hope and opportunity to every member of the community that wants to work together to have a better and safer life in our Parish. For young adults to know that if they work hard, they will have a chance to have a successful life and become productive citizens in the community! With the major repairs being completed we hope to have space available for an adult health daycare at the facility where sons and daughter can drop their aging parents off for the day where they can engage in light physical and social activities this should be completed early in the coming year. We have already started a youth and family mentoring service with Dr. Larry Green, Professor at Grambling State University and former Minnesota Viking, Talance Sawyer, on the third Saturday of the month.
To provide adequate parking space to accommodate approximately 20 to 30 students and because of our summer IT workshop, BDPA already has 20 local students ready to start after repairs are done. We have planned with Credit Unions, Banks and accounting professionals to conduct Financial Literacy workshops as well. We estimate having between 150 to 200 students and adults participating in these and other programs at ROBINSON-WILLIAMS Restoration of Hope Community Center.
What is the proposed length of time estimated by the entity to accomplish the purpose?
6 to 24 months
