What is the entity's public purpose, sought to be achieved through the use of state monies?
          Thibodaux Regional Health System serves Lafourche and surrounding areas as part of the "Hospital of Last Resort" program. It has become the only hospital in a five-parish region to remain open and fully operational in providing emergency medical services during catastrophic weather events. It is also the only hospital in the region with full services to care for the community. In order to
remain fully functional during catastrophic events, the facility's critical infrastructure systems must be updated. Thibodaux Regional
Health System is requesting immediate consideration to replace critical generators, chillers and various other equipment needed to
sustain an entire hospital during catastrophic events. During Hurricane Ida this need for update became more evident as we saw
the current emergency power systems pushed to the limit. Thibodaux Regional Health System has provided emergency health care services for a 5-parish area for the last 25 years. This is true when other area provider shave closed during catastrophic weather events. Four area hospitals closed during Hurricane Ida and Thibodaux Regional Health System provided care for very large numbers of area residents for an extended period of time.

          Make critical and necessary upgrades and improvements in order to be able to provide vital healthcare services to the people in the region during the aftermath of severe weather events and other catastrophic events.
