What is the entity's public purpose, sought to be achieved through the use of state monies?
AHAYAH COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION operates as a nonprofit housing developer for affordable housing presently with the City of Monroe as a certified Community Housing Development Organization certified through HUD. Also we are a Certified Housing Packager for the USDA 502 Direct Loan Program that finances Low to Moderate Income Individuals statewide. So our purpose is to provide homeownership to residents of Louisiana. The act of creating homeownership helps to transform neighborhoods that once were thriving older areas of town that had ownership, local businesses and community connect between families. By re-establishing this type of home ownership again in our targeted area will help remove crime, give a sense of pride again for the remaining residents as well as the new potential homeowners.

What are the goals and objectives for achieving such purpose?
The project's goal is to increase the economic growth and vitality of neighborhoods struggling with low homeownership rates, high crime, and low property values. The investment in new housing will infuse new development in areas in need of revitalization, improve the quality of housing, and increase property values in the area. ALSO, this connects in with the improvements of our local zoo in Monroe. It is a hub for northeast residents to bring their families to see the animal attracts. Plus, one of our major business corridors connected to this area has been improved by the State with sidewalks and new lighting for the residents.

What is the proposed length of time estimated by the entity to accomplish the purpose?

ONE YEAR THE ADDITIONAL HOUSING WOULD BE COMPLETED
